I'm sure many of you know about this, but I didn't think about it until recently when my toddler wanted something fun for her hair.
I made this flower from 3 charms and a button, and used hot glue to glue it all together. Next time you have a craft fair type thing, these are pretty cheap to make and apparently sell for good prices on Etsy? They're fast too, and you can make them into pins for a lapel or hat, or clips for hair or bags. I glued this to a ribbon covered alligator clip (with teeth, because child has slippery hair like me). I got a bag of clips from Amazon for pretty cheap. This was my first time ever making anything like this and it probably took me about 20min of dedicated time. I'm positive it'd go much faster if I made another.
I could see making a smaller one to layer on top, doing different colored petals, doing it in batiks (how gorgeous!), using a twisted fabric rosette in the middle instead of a button... Lots of possibilities to try!
Note: I also don't have any felt for the flower base so I used 2 small circles of cardstock since I do have cardstock laying around, and that worked out pretty well. The base of my jug of Stay-Flo worked perfectly as a circle template for my charms.
