Marcia- right now we're having trouble keeping weight on him because he eats some and then gets busy chasing the other (younger) horses away from their grain buckets so he can eat their food. Problem is, he's got too few teeth to actually chew and properly digest regular feed and they eat his senior feed while he's busy eating (gumming actually) theirs. The round bale of hay that's out for them doesn't do him any good because he can't chew well enough to actually digest it. So as of yesterday he gets put in his stall from morning til after evening feeding. He already gets senior feed twice a day and beet pulp mash twice a day along with fat supplements.

He's not a happy camper when he has to stay in the barn-- he'd rather be out 24/7 bossing the younger horses around LOL! We want to get him fattened up before winter.
