I use my 6x24 and my 6x12 the most. For your decision making determine what size blocks you make most often and need to square up. I have 2 Quilter's Select self healing cutting mats to cover my cutting table and I love them!! I am left handed and they are numbered both ways so I am not counting down from 36 anymore. I also love the light and dark gray reversible sides, will never use another brand again. They didn't stink when I first got them either, as some other brands seem to.
