I do not like making log cabin blocks. Yes, they are a classic block, they make a great looking quilt, and are a favorite of many quilters. Just not me. I recently bought the Creative Grids log cabin ruler which I was hoping to use with a fabric collection I have. After fiddling with several practice blocks both with and without using the ruler I've decided to abandon that plan and find another pattern. Which patterns have you admired but found you don't enjoy making?

BTW, the CG ruler didn't work very well for me. I got better results without. Anyone else have that experience?
