You can just ride up the Space Needle for the experience and have dinner elsewhere -- that's what I would do. Pike's Place Market, yes, and a ferry ride is nice. I'd suggest a ferry to Bainbridge Island rather than Bremerton, only because it's a cute little touristy town right where the ferry lands.
