You asked about length of time we keep a top laying out unfinished - I've had a white/white quilt sitting out for about 4 months now, just waiting to make a decision about the backing fabric. Since the front is all white, going into someone's home whose decor is white furniture, white carpets, white cabinets and only silver or grey art on the walls, I've been sort of limited in my choices. Finally found a white fabric that has undulating waves of very tiny grey and black dots on it.
Really like your use of charm squares - it makes a cheery quilt!
