Joan I store mine both ways. I fold them on the bias and they are flat in a cupboard, or hung on a quilt rack or rolled on a pool noodle. For me....folding on the bias doesn't crease them as bad. You can also bias fold and roll them up as tight as you can then put them in one of those "suck" bags and get the air out. Forgot what they are really called
but you can get quite a few quilts (5-6) in the large bags.
