I stitch my binding to the front, fold it over to the back. Pin, then
put a line of thin Elmer's washable glue, press and remove the pins
as I go. Then stitch in the ditch to the front. When pinning, I make
sure that it catches the binding at the back. Pin same direction
as you will be SID.
Here's a tutorial that's very much like how I sew my binding
with a slight difference...she uses 2" binding and sew 1/4".
I use 2.5" binding and use 3/8" seam. I also like to use the
"Perfect Binding Miter" tool. It helps to mark each corner.
It's always a good idea to make a test with the same fabric,
batting and binding before you binding your actual quilt.
I also use Patrick Loose's method of notching the corners.
