Many times the laser pointer is a dedicated part as the power source for the light is often a plug on the LA itself. I had to go to my machine manufacturer to get the replacement for mine. Did you try contacting any dealers who still carry this machine like Sewing Machines Plus or Bonnies Sewing Center?

I think that would be my first course of action.
You could also try contacting other LA dealers such as Handiquilter, Innova, APQS, etc to see if their pointer can be adapted to fit your machine.
When my pointer was being shipped I substituted a giant size knitting needle as a makeshift stylus to use for doing pantos. This low tech solution, suggested to me by Innova, worked surprisingly well. In fact my dealer had included this giant knitting needle with my LA as part of my starter package. Before laser lights, LAQ used a stylus to help them guide the machine head. I just put the knitting needle into the clamp that held my laser light and positioned it so the point was just a fraction of an inch (1/8 to 1/4) above my panto table and followed the pattern by watching the tip of the knitting needle. This will help get you up and running until you can find a replacement unit.
