Oh Butterflywing, for the past 20 years I've been soaking myself in the hottest water and I haven't shrunk the least bit, LOL!
Sewing fabrics without prewashing does make piecing go much easier but sometimes you need to think of who the quilt is for.
I prewash for baby quilts and for the pillowcases that I make for kids in hospitals, I also give the fabric an extra rinse and don't use softner when drying the fabric. May in Jersey
