Do you honestly think an oven maker would have the stove get so hot it would catch on fire??????????? The door does lock until it cools to a safe temp. You can always turn the stove off by using the dial.
You have more faith in the manufacturer than I do. And, yes, ovens have caught on fire when running the self cleaning feature. Just google it. Any time you have temps that high, there is the possibility of a fire.
