The blocks are called maple leaves...I just put a bunch together & scattered them randomly. I am bummed that afew of the stems ended up together but I'll get over it, right? I was torn between making the corner blocks the rust leaves on the yellow background or this way. I decided that there was enough going on and kept the border quieter. LOL, there's nothing quiet about this quilt. :P
Having some of your stems end up together only mimics what happens in nature. Your quilt is lovely as it is. Please don't regret your 'happy accident'...at least that's what I'd consider it.
