I am looking for a straight stitch machine for quilting. These are the two machines I am thinking about. My local machine store has the Brother machine. I tried it out and liked it. I can see where a machine like this could make a difference in one's quilting. I didn't like the foot pedal as it seemed to offer little resistance in speed. It wasn't easy to control the speed, but maybe it takes practice. Both machines were cheaper if I were to order online. Also, if I were to do piecing, though the Brother has a 1/4 " foot, it does not have the edge guide. I don't know if the Juki has an 1/4" edge guide foot. I learned about the Juki from the Sharon Schamber site. She has an older model. I would appreciate comments about either machine.
