this is what I had done for the machine I used before I got my Juki. The cabinet was probably a 1970's model that came with a Singer inside. Dh modified it so my machine would sit down and then I used the wood cutout to slide in place. Otherwise getting at the bobbin would have been a real problem. I glued felt to the back side so it would not scratch up the surface.
