personaly i would never purchase another brother sewing machin i purchased one less than a year latter i pourchased a elna and donated the brother to good will i had trouble with the tension and speedd controle and a lot of snarled up mess of thread when starting projects also brother machines are all made with platstic parts and requers a special sewing machine oil my aunt only had her new brother 3 months before she donated it to the good will they are not made for heavy duty sewing also if you want to quilt a project with the brother it won't do a good job pleas ask other i am shure there is someone out there happy with there brother
