I just use the normal setting. But certainly try on low heat first and see if that does it, if not use normal heat. Many quilts are washed in hot water, so I haven't worried to much about low heat for this part. Since you are using poly batting, low or medium heat is OK.

In fact, I don't prefer the real crinkly look in my quilts, so when I use cotton batting like Warm & Natural, I always wash it in hot water (no soap) and dry it on high heat before I sandwich the quilt with it. Works great.
