The second photo with the stars are Thimbleberries...They had lots of coordinating fabrics a few years ago...one of the best things I saw done with them was "coloring" them with crayons and heat setting them (just a gentle shading with various colors) and then setting them into squares using an assortment of other Thimbleberry fabrics. Also the earlier idea for the red and white blocks being put into quilt blocks is a good one. If the space for seams is too small, the blocks could be appliqued onto a block rather that sashed.
