Is that the wide flat belt on the lower right of the picture? Don't you have another machine that uses the flat belt?

Note the regular hinges, not knife hinges.

Did you find any worn thread paths? I have been looking for a patent, but can't seem to find one that would indicate threading. I did find the one from '52 for the tension and that seemed to indicate it was inside against eccentric looking wheel. One of the pictures it almost looked like it went up further than the top. Is there a hole in the needle bar? Just thinking out loud
