Depends on how much thread you have. I have 2 plastic container carry boxes (Joann's) to keep all my thread. Keeps it dust free. Some specialty threads are kept in ziplocks in an open box. Some folks prefer their thread on a board hanging up and that is fine, but you need a cover because dust will soil your quilt.
