Yes, I did do it with my ordinary walking foot, yes, I did watch a couple of you-tubes on spiral quilting and one craftsy class, and no, the quilting isn't that even and lovely....in some places it wobbles quite a bit but looking at it from afar it's not that noticeable!! We are, afterall, humans not machines. lol. And yes, I quilted it on the new Juki which is just the "bomb" as far as I'm concerned! That machine just ploughs along with a smile on its face and the little bit extra in "harp height" well and truly makes up for the slightly smaller harp width compared to the 710.
