Thanks Nan. I loved her approach to quilting what and where and why. There are whole libraries of books written on this subject. I think many people can step outside their comfort zone and learn new things if they just take the time to invest in the whole subject of quilting. Quilting. Not just piecing, not just design, not just complementary colorways.
I agree that sometimes it is much easier to just have a pro do the quilting if a quilt is beyond your skills because your skills are deficient to finish a beloved quilt that is beyond my capabilities. But, I also think that if you don't try, you will never learn the skills to feel confident enough to advance on.
I once heard a very old lady say," I go by if I have more money than time or more time than money". It really stood out in my memory all these years later.
