I sew my bindings on the front of the quilt and then fold over to the back. After the binding is sewn on the back, I then sew the 4 mitered corners on the back.
My ? is: Are you suppose to sew the miters on the front of the quilt also?
yes ..i do. i finish the binding miters on front & back as o hand stitch the back of binding. i read that you need to do this if entering quilt in shows. but i've always done it because it's a nicer looking finish. i'm beginning to think that those of us who transitioned from clothing & home dec sewing, where finicky finishing work are the norm for final appearance, into the hobby of quilt sewing for fun, just naturally carry over the tiny little bits of detail work when we finish our quilts.
