I would have thought that the denser areas would have made those squares quite a bit tighter/smaller than the other ones. Did you do dense basting? That is probably a dumb question, because if you used a long arm machine you wouldn’t had to baste?
Thank you! Due to the heavy quilting "flat" is easily achieved. I spray baste using 505 spray. I LOVE that spray.
It may be because the whole quilt is SITD. Around the individual stars as well as the square in the square so each area is secured/basted in that sense. I quilt on my Janome 8900-no long arm :-)
