Sure there is still a place for the simple quilts. Our sewing group which meets every two weeks from beginning of September until April make a dozen or more each year. Simple, traditional, tied. As 2 or 3 are ready we plan a meeting for tying. One lady brings in the frame we work together to set it up, load a quilt all of us take turns/ work together to tie them. They are very appealing, nice, well received quilts.
