I love, love, love fusible batting. I've used it for two lap quilts, a wall hanging and a table runner. I scatter a few safety pins, especially on the corners just as a little reinforcement, but overall, it holds very well. Any goo on the needle is easily removed with a little alcohol on a scrap of fabric or gauze, but I think that was more of a problem with basting spray. Watch Joann's ... I bought it at one of their two for one sales. Good luck!

There may be better brands, but just checked mine and it's June Tailor.
