My friend and I have the Janome 4120 -- I got it because of the weight so I can take it classes. My friend uses it as her only machine, but she has a long arm. One thing I know -- if you are going to make quilts and quilt them on the domestic machine, it is easier if you have a lot of space under the arm (called the harp) since when you quilt (as opposed to put the pieces together) you wind up shoving the quilt through that opening -- unless you pay someone else to do the actual quilting. I don't know about the other machines, but I would want a bigger harp than the 4120. The older Janomes -- 6500 and 6600 -- are heavier, great work horses, not super expensive and have great harp space.
