I-80 goes thru Central Iowa.

1) Quilting Connection Ames, Ia. It's in the old downtown district. Ames is the college town for Ia. St. Uni. While in Ames consider eating at Hickory Park BBQ-Wonderful!

2) Quilters Cupboard Ankeny, Ia In the old downtown district. While in Ankeny You might want to try Fong's Pizza for a to die for Crab Rangoon pizza.

3) The Quilt Block, West Des Moines, in the Valley Junction area, also in the old downtown district. If hungry while in Valley Junction try "The Tavern" for a Guinea Grinder. Valley Junction is a popular, thriving retail area of unique and specialty stores, you might be tempted to visit other stores.

4) Creekside Quilt Store, Clive, Ia. The employees are well knowledged and very helpful. Located On the backside of a strip mall but just around the corner in the same mall is a yummy Mexican restaurant.

5) Further East on I-80, about 30-35 miles is Newton, Ia. Crazy Redhead Lady Quilt Shop, located in a former church.

6) MSQ is 2 hours south of Des Moines taking I-35.
