The controller is still available, but I'm not sure if this model is worth spending time and money on. That said, you are the one with the machine in front of you, and can take a look at it. I'm guessing a basic replacement pedal with work, as long as you can find the correct plug-cord set. Some machines have computerized parts that need to be compatible with the chips in the pedal to work, but often a generic replacement will work just as well.
