Wash it well, cut it up and use a salad spinner to get the moisture out. It will keep much better dry because moisture is what ruins it, I think. I have 2 salad spinners, one in the rv and one in the house. Next time you grocery shop, check the housewares aisle for them or a thrift store often has them if you don’t want to buy new. And I have a 3rd one without the top ! Cut up watermelon or cantaloupe keeps longer because the juice drains away from the fruit through the inside bowl. I cover with a plastic bowl cover or “as Mom did” put a plate on top !
