Adorable! Applique is my favorite technique and I almost always fuse and blanket stitch. Our daughter is pregnant and due Feb. 2nd and am making her a "dog and cat" quilt for the baby. Since the appliques are larger I am going to try for the first time: using freezer paper on the wrong side and turning the edge under with a starch solution, then applique with a very narrow and fine blind hem to tack down.
