I also have 4 quilts that need to go to the long armer because I just don't want to wrestle with them. The one I use is very good, and does all free-style custom work (not pantos) and I am sure she calculates the price by the inch, I just don't know her rate. Most of my quilts are about twin to full size, and I pay around $125-$150 each. I give her free creative control, just tell her to do what she thinks will look best (just no feathers as I don't like that look on my modern quilts). I think she enjoys being able to be more innovative on mine, but doubt that gives me any price break, LOL. And I will say that she is really busy, and I often will wait in queue 6 months to get one done. Just saving up a little before I send them off!!
