I will be working on a quilt tomorrow, and I will try to remember to take the camera in with me, so you can see how much space there is to work when 72"+ is rolled up in there. I have learned to really put the pressure on while rolling the quilt up.
I don't ever intend to do a lot of heavy quilting, but I sure would appreciate opening up things so that the six inches or so of quilting area isn't so obvious and pronounced. <wave>
