My mother served frozen brussel sprouts, boiled to yukky, to us as kids. they were mushy and bitter. Now I roast them with other veggies and cut up an apple or a d'anjou pear, toss them and some raisins or cranberry raisins in the mix, use 2 or 3 tablespoons of olive all, mix in spice to taste and toss them all until every veggie/fruit is lightly coated ...mm-mmm, good.

Let me add that I love most vegetables, with the exceptions of lima beans, beets, okra and maybe rutabega, which I haven't tasted as an adult. And I am grateful that no one forces me to eat them.
