Elna's are fantastic machines. I have migrated to Janome because when I shopped for an updated machine in 2003, the Elna machines were made by Janome and it made little difference. BOTH machines are fantastic. My original Elna was Swiss made and is still kicking. I bought it in 1969-70. It has more miles on it than the B&O railroad and never had a repair in all those years. The computerized machines require more maintenance, BUT they do more. LOVE those Elna machines
