I have a black one in a beautiful case. It sews perfectly, but the rumble of that kookie White drive system bugs me somehow. No amount of fiddling or new drive nubbies seems to help. I think the sound of that struggling little bogie goes sent straight to the cabinetry, which then serves as a soundboard. I have had a couple of the portables, and they don't rumble so bad. Still, it is such a beautiful machine that I keep it around. Mine is a 1938. Model 31, I think it is.
