The Pfaff Grandquilter is just a straight stitch machine that can sew somewhere around 1600 stitches per minute so it's fast. So, yes you can put it in a desk/table/cabinet to sit and quilt. If your DH can build things, he could most certainly build a table that you could customize to fit this machine. You would want it to sit flush with the top of the table of course. You could really make it so that the machine sits either like a normal machine set up or turned like it is in the Inspira frame whichever you prefer. But as QuiltnNan said, you won't be able to use the stitch regulator.
