I purchased a Pfaff Grandquilter used about six years ago with the same set up you have. The neck space wasn't large enough for me. I realized that it is a great sit down machine. It stitches beautifully. I got rid of the frame and decided that I would use it for piecing and walking foot quilting. I haven't tried it for freemotion. I am reluctant to replace it with another sit down machine, because I love that it has feed dogs.
