Default Improvisational Log Cabin

I had decided recently that I wanted to make a log cabin without a pattern and without planning the fabrics before I started. I wanted to challenge myself to start with a very small piece of red, and a leftover piece of yellow calico from 21 years ago, and then decide on one round of the log cabin at a time. Sew a log on each block, then decide what the next log would be. The fabrics were all stash, from various acquisitions over many years. (This is somewhat hard to do, because as the block gets bigger, you have to figure out if you have enough of that small piece of fabric in the stash to be used on all blocks.)
It was fun to do! So much fun to see how it progressed. After I had pieced 36 blocks, I decided to clip a few corners off of some of the blocks and add the green triangles. Just a bit of whimsy.
