mem is correct. The batting used in W&N is 100% cotton, but it is needled to a very thin poly scrim. The warm company used to market a microwaveable batt, but discontinued it. The pellon product is what you need to use. Even then, you want to make sure everything is cotton, fabric, batt & thread. Be wary of fabric with glitter or metallics.
