Thank you all again for your kind words about my quilt. The black binding on the quilt is now complete too! I hope it will last and teach many generations about both sides of my family heritage for MANY years. ONE reason I made this quilt for my grandchildren is this brief story.----------- Officials sadly destroyed my Tribe on my mothers side of the family during removal acts long ago and forced us to Kansas from NJ. I am a descendant of ONLY 100 Munsee Lenape by way of my Grandfather that survived this removal process. We were once called, "Munsee Lenni-Lenape" of Cranbury, NJ. Once referred to as "Dog By The Fireside" known today as "Wolf Tribe". Now the only tribe that is Government recognized in NJ and Delaware area is the "Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape". We are to this day desperately still trying to get recognition as a real live and thriving tribe like the Nanticoke are. The Munsee survived death and "we are still here".... I'm living proof and this quilt.
