Default Need thoughts on finishing this wall hanging

I purchased this cute precut kit from Keepsake Quilting (thank goodness I got the precut! Teeny, tiny pieces!) and did all the fusing. It's ready for quilting. Once quilted it will get more 3D leaves attached in the binding. There are about 4-5 3D leaves now on it between the two borders.

I will be quilting it on my long arm--still not sure what thread I'll use. But here is my question--with some pieces (eyes) so itsy-bitsy, should I layer some tull over it before quilting to insure that no pieces fall off at a later date? Or just quilt it.

I was thinking tull--but not sure how I'd manage to allow the 3D to stay 3D, I thought maybe i could just use tull over the center but not sure how to get it polished on the edges. ideas???

Also--if anyone has quilted one of these types of fused wall hangings that has several fused layers--did you have any issues with quilting it?
