Several months ago I folded all my fabrics (mostly FQ's and half yards) to same size and stacked them. Well, that didn't last long! I almost invariably needed something on the very bottom or near the bottom and the whole stack would get catty-wampus. Plus, not all my fabric fit on my shelves. So, I broke down and bought the comic boards. I cut almost all of them in half since most of my fabrics are less than a yard, left a few whole for the bigger pieces. Now, all of my fabric fits in their space and I can pull out the ones I need without messing everything else up. I am happier and I am spending way less time looking for or organizing fabric. I also spent time cutting my scraps to usable sizes and now I cut scraps while I'm cutting for a project or right after. Being organized helps me get more done!
Here are before and after pics of my little stash... The bottom shelves are vintage sheet fabrics, have to work on those next...
