I put it about where my bra strap (if I am wearing one!) would hit on my back--it forces me to sit up straighter and lean back to keep it in place.
I'll echo someone else's comment--check your table/machine height--your elbows should be at a 90 degree angle--so often we are sitting too low. Also--do get up and stretch, move around at least once per hour. My orthopedist is adamant about that--says too much chance of blood clots in legs if you sit more than an hour. I keep my ironing board on the other side of the room for that reason.
