A question....do you have a history of using a sewing machine and matching seams? If not, you may be happier if you start with a beginner pattern, just to practice getting that 1/4 inch seam down pat and understanding the directions. Rail fence is one that comes to mind. You still have to match seams and you can use the jelly roll if you want to. Here is a page with links to free patterns.
