However, if it is the outside edge of the backing, that selvedge is being cut off .....
So save yourself the added work of trimming and stitching.
Plus the selvedge edge will be even more stable than the stitched edge.
Once the quilting is done ... then it'll be done and gone and adds to the size of the leftover piece.
