I cut my first block yesterday after many hours of deciding pattern and fabric.
I, of course, cut it wrong!
No problem I find another block to make with compatible block sizes. Get it almost cut out and see an armadillo running around out in the rain in the yard. I grab my camera and chase after it trying to get pictures. My new camera keeps turning off after I turn it off! I turn it on, it turns itself off! Gave up as I was in my slippers and getting kind of wet.
Came in and cut the last block WRONG.
At that point I grabbed a brownie and my book and went to bed.
There are days I shouldn't try to sew.
This morning I looked the situation over and decided that I could make a block with hardly any of her fabric in it but that wasn't the point of this swap so I put my problem solving hat on.
The block which I wanted to make, who's name escapes me and I can't find anymore but do remember how to put together, is doable if I add an extra little seam to one part so that's what I did. I got it all put together and after it is put in a quilt it will only have a 1/4 inch seam that can't readily be seen. The recipient might not even notice unless I confess my sin here.
So forgive me BarbS. I will gladly pay you for more fabric and shipping. The block will be in the mail on Tuesday so let me know if you want me to try again. If nothing else it should give you a laugh.

Now on to the next Canadian's block! Aren't you both glad I decided you both should go first?
