I sent a Christmas card with ck Dec. 12th. Come to find out I put 6 instead of 5 for the address which is across the street. I kept checking with the bank to see if someone cashed it. I got the card back Sat.. According to the sticker put on by the post office it was sent back Jan. 3rd. Who knows where it was for 2 mos.. My check was still there, and it the envelope didn't look like it had been opened.
I was told by a retired supervisor the mail goes round and round the loop until someone actually takes the time to pull it off the belt and correct the zip. I have a feeling they pull it off and throw it in a back room after it loops for weeks and the belt is full.
