Personally, I would try all the suggestions above, but if that still doesn't fix the issue, I would not continue to use the machine. A scraping noise would mean something is getting abraded. If you continue to use it, you may damage it beyond repair. Take it in for service.
I have a call into a quilt shop here in my area to see if they can help, if not, I will take it next week to the shop where I bought it....Thanks for your help....
