I think using charms, layers cut into quarters then hst-Ed will give you smaller hst....two stitching lines - or if you just do one stitch line right on diagonal, lots of unnecessary waste.actually, if you don't rough-house those original bias edged hst/s, it's no problem, could even be helpful in matching seams.......jmho
