I found a wonderful free pattern
here with multiple borders. Unfortunately, the credits are not correct. It was designed by Karen Bialik for Timeless Treasures using their Monterrey fabrics. The pattern was available for download from Timeless Treasures while the fabric was in production a year or two ago.
It generally moves from small to large on the borders, but not strictly. The wavy part is all one fabric, but the others are individual borders that vary from 1" to 6.5". It might inspire you to think outside the box.
